Isa Ahmed Al-Sharooqi obtained his degree in Medicine on 1989 from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and then his postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine (MRCP (UK) 1993 and Arab Board 1994), then his Neurology board in 1996 and did his fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at St. Thomas Hospital, London, UK. He joined Salmaniya Medical Complex in Manama, Bahrain and contributed in the formation of the Clinical Neurosciences Department which he chaired later for 8 years till February 2013. He is a faculty member of Internal Medicine Dept of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Manama, Bahrain, as an Assistant Professor.
Dr Al-Sharooqi is a founding member of Bahrain Neurosciences Association and he is the
Secretary General of the association. He created a registry for MS patients in Ministry of Health in Bahrain. He is one of the Founders of Bahrain Patient MS Society. Dr. Al-Sharooqi is a founder and executive member of the MENACTRIMS. He is a Co-Founder of Al-Jowhara Multiple Sclerosis Research Unit, Al-Jowhara Molecular Biology Centre, AGU. He is an executive member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) committee for the combat of Neurological Disorders in Arabian Gulf Region. Currently, Dr. Al Sharooqi is also serving as a member of the scientific committee of Saudi Board of Neurology, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
